Lighter, Then Faster
EXAR UltraDark carbon fiber wheelset applies HI-MOD carbon fiber. The excellent materials allow great reduction on weight while retaining outstanding stiffness.
By reducing drive weight, you will get a faster response while climbing or accelerating.
*The wheelset weight in the table does not include the weight of quick-release skewer and rim tape. A tolerance of ±3% applies, and the actual wheelset weight should prevail.
Lower Front And Higher Rear Wheels
The wheelset combines a lower front wheel and a higher rear wheel to support better stability.
It improves pedaling efficiency by providing excellent aerodynamic performance and crosswind resistance.
While the rear wheel maintains high inertia, the front wheel still has excellent controllability for turns or emergencies.
Flat Engagement Ratchet
Ensure Stable Performance
It adopts a flat ratchet, which has more stable performance when cruising at all speeds.
You can replace the original ratchet with other DT ratchets with different tooth counts. A ratchet with more teeth gives a faster response.
Full Carbon Fiber Spokes

EXAR UltraDark uses VONOA carbon fiber spokes. Each spoke weighs only 2.8 g, around 30% lighter than top-level steel spokes.
Carbon fiber spokes offer higher tensile strength and can withstand 30% more tensile force, helping improve transmission efficiency.
30 mm Wide Fat Rim
Aerodynamic And Comfortable
The wheelset adopts 30 mm external rim width and 23 mm internal rim width, designed for disc brake only.
With 28–32c tires, the contact surface between tire and rim becomes flatter, improving aerodynamics and comfort.
It ensures strong aerodynamic performance in complex wind conditions while offering a more comfortable ride.
Elaborate Hub Design
Improve flange diameter: the flange diameter has been scientifically calculated according to the stiffness of carbon fiber spokes, reducing stress concentration where the spoke contacts the hub.
Smooth edging on bearing surface: the contact surface between bearing and body is processed with smooth edges to reduce bearing losses.
2:1 balanced spoke pattern: the rear wheel uses a balanced lacing pattern that distributes tension more effectively. Drive side spoke tension is 130 kgf ±10% and non-drive side is 110 kgf ±10%.
More Powerful Designs
The dynamic balance is exclusively designed for TPU inner tubes, helping deliver stable cycling at high speed.
The wheelset is compatible with both tubeless and clincher tires.
It includes tubeless rim tape and rim plugs. When installing clincher tires, the rim plugs can be used to reduce weight.
